This work is the result of a research carried out in the city of Tocantinópolis, located in the
North of the State of Tocantins, central region of Brazil in geographic aspects, its main objective
is to analyze the violence / s suffered by the women workers of the trade formal in his work
activity in the municipality of Tocantinópolis (TO). For that, it was necessary to weave a
discussion about the history of work and the female participation in it, then weave historical
and social aspects of the research field, and finally, analysis of the data collected. For data
collection, semi-structured interviews were used based on a questionnaire aimed at identifying
such violence. In the analysis of the data, a qualitative analysis was sought from authors of
sociology and authors who study about gender violence. The research result indicated by
realizing that this environment is an unhealthy environment, and that some women, despite
being inside this environment, cannot see the violence they suffer, they cannot see that despite
being a co-worker, sometimes a joke, is a sign of violence. This needs to be changed, awareness
policies need to be built. Justifying in this way the importance of this research and more research
like this.
