Resumo:
For greater profitability and financial return for the producer, research is carried out on alternative foods to be used in animal feed, mainly poultry. That said, the experiment was carried out at the Federal University of Northern Tocantins, with the support of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), in which 108 Label Rouge® broiler chicks were used, mixed batch, acquired with one day of life in the local commerce of Araguaína-TO. The 21-day-old birds were distributed in the respective experimental units (50x50x30cm galvanized wire cages, equipped with a trough-type feeder and drinker) and superimposed trays for the collection of excreta. Three diets were evaluated: the reference diet (RD), and the other treatments were replacements of the RD by the test food (ground whole babassu) in 10% (test diet 1 - DT1) and 20% (test diet 2 - DT2), totaling three treatments, six replications with six birds each, distributed in a completely randomized design, with three days of adaptation and four days of collection, totaling seven days of experimentation. That said, the present study was carried out to determine the crude protein (CP), digestible protein and digestibility of whole babassu meal.
