This study has a view to propose reflectance on Medea (431 b. C.) by Euripides based on some
theoretical considerations regarding the Greek tragedy, its genesis and particularities. The
research aims to analyze the relation between the myth of Medea and Euripides` play
investigating the construction of Medea as a character which is present in the tragic piece based
on the homonymous myth and literature in the V century b. C. It is also V century Euripides
and his work as a philosopher and bright innovator in consonance with sophistic construction,
the traditional myth and religion and the contemporaneity of Medea as a play and its presence
in contemporary media with emphasis on the relation between myth and literature while
questioning this myth and play`s importance to this generation. Lastly, suggestive side teaching
material will be presented with several ideas that may be weaved through the present research,
as well as its result. Its target public is mostly mid-school teachers and students. This study has,
as its main objective, suggested a contextualized multidisciplinary proposal of its use in
classrooms with the intent of helping teachers with a contextualized approach on the Greek
tragedy myth of Medea. Thus, it may become back up material with interdisciplinary ideas
eligible for hybrid teaching, also compatible with contemporary curricular orientations and
principles on literature and philosophy classes. |
