We aim to highlight the potentiality present in a numerical method in the combination with card games, enabling good mathematical learning especially related to polynomian equations of the first degree, propitiating the development of algebraic thought from its characterizations. We list it as a research question: to what extent does the False Position Rule (RFP) combined with a card game promote the development of algebraic thinking in the teaching of polynomian equations of the first degree? We collected the data for empirical analysis through the use of the game with teachers and in a class of the 8th year of elementary school. We used the methodological assumptions of didactic engineering in our qualitative research, under the bases of an action research. We report on the theoretical aspect of research to official educational documents such as PCN, BNCC and others, as well as the contributions of Guy Brousseau with the Theory of Didactic Situations (TSD) and the model related to algebraic thought according to James Kaput and Juan Godino. Our research generated as an educational product the rfp card game that is attached. Nesta pesquisa expomos resultados de estudos e criação desenvolvidos com base na relação possível entre os jogos de cartas e a Regra da Falsa Posição (RFP), cuja interseção possibilitou a constituição do jogo de cartas RFP contribuinte aos estudos relativos à equação polinomial do primeiro grau, através de processos numéricos, remontando maneiras/modos de perceber e manipular elementos matemáticos, especialmente sob o domínio algébrico, promovidos em civilizações egípcias, babilônicas e chinesas, cujas habilidades foram preponderantes ao desenvolvimento dos conhecimentos algébricos. Objetivamos evidenciar a potencialidade presente em um método numérico na combinação com jogos de cartas, possibilitando boas aprendizagens matemáticas especialmente relativas a equações polinomiais do primeiro grau propiciando o desenvolvimento do pensamento algébrico a partir de suas caracterizações. Elencamos como pergunta de pesquisa: em que medida a Regra da Falsa Posição (RFP) combinada com um jogo de cartas promove o desenvolvimento do pensamento algébrico no ensino de equações polinomiais do primeiro grau? Coletamos os dados para análise de maneira empírica através do uso do jogo com professores e, em uma turma do 8° ano do ensino fundamental. Utilizamos os pressupostos metodológicos da engenharia didática em nossa pesquisa de cunho qualitativo sob as bases de uma pesquisa-ação. Reportamos-nos no aspecto teórico da pesquisa aos documentos oficiais educacionais como PCN, BNCC e outros, bem como as contribuições de Guy Brousseau com a Teoria das Situações Didáticas (TSD) e o modelo relativo ao pensamento algébrico conforme James Kaput e Juan Godino.
