The aim was to show the teaching and learning experiences of a teacher and her students in the process of developing a Didactic Sequence (DS) based on ethnobotany in 5th grade science classes. The research was conducted using my training diary and the students' diaries, with records of class activities, semi-structured interviews, photographic records and others. I used Textual Discourse Analysis (TDA) as a methodology for analyzing the empirical material and, after a process of immersion, I systematized two thematic axes of analysis: i) TEA FOR WHAT? An approach with medicinal plants in the early years in a riverside school in the Amazon, and ii) ETNOBOTANICS THROUGH THE GARDENS OF DECOLONIALITY: sowing seeds for (re)thinking teacher training in science.. The results and discussions were presented in two articles, which allow for discussions and reflections on the roles of the teacher and student in these processes, especially regarding the use of ethnobotany in the classroom. It is possible to consider that the teaching proposal has premises for a Decolonial Approach in science teaching, provides meaningful learning, Intercultural Scientific Literacy with valorization traditional knowledge and contributing to citizen education. As a result of this study, I have made available a book in digital format (ebook), called BEYOND TEA: ethnobotany through medicinal plants, which introduces teachers and students to new ways and simple possibilities of teaching and learning botany, culture and science education. These innovative experiences in science teaching are easy to apply and replicate in everyday school life, and can be reframed by teachers according to the needs of each class. Esta é uma pesquisa qualitativa, transformada em um relato (auto)biográfico, baseandose em minhas experiências como professora de alunos do 5º ano do ensino fundamental em uma escola ribeirinha da rede pública municipal de Ponta de Pedras, Pará, Brasil. Objetivou-se protagonizar as experiencias de ensino e de aprendizagens de uma professora e seus alunos no processo de desenvolvimento de uma Sequência Didática - SD de base etnobotânica nas aulas de Ciências no 5º ano do ensino fundamental. A pesquisa foi conduzida utilizando meu diário de formação e os diários dos estudantes, com registros de atividades das aulas, entrevistas semiestruturadas, registros fotográficos e outros. Utilizei a Análise Textual Discursiva (ATD) como metodologia de análise do material empírico e, após um processo de imersão, sistematizei dois eixos temáticos de análise: i) CHÁ PARA QUÊ? Uma abordagem com plantas medicinais nos anos iniciais em uma escola ribeirinha da Amazônia, e ii) A ETNOBOTÂNICA PELOS JARDINS DA DECOLONIALIDADE: lançando sementes para (re)pensar a formação docente em ciências. Os resultados e discussões foram apresentados em dois artigos, que permitem discussões e reflexões a respeito dos papéis do/a professor/a e do/a aluno/a nesses processos, em especial quanto ao uso da etnobotânica na sala de aula. É possível considerar que a proposta docente possui premissas para uma Abordagem Decolonial no ensino de Ciências, propicia aprendizagem significativa, Alfabetização Científica Intercultural com valorização do conhecimento tradicional e contribui para uma Educação Cidadã. Como fruto deste estudo, disponibilizei um livro em formato digital (e-book), denominado de PARA ALÉM DOS CHÁS: a etnobotânica através das plantas medicinais, que apresenta aos/às professores/as e alunos/as novas formas e possibilidades simples de ensinar e aprender botânica, cultura e educação científica. Essas experiências inovadoras no ensino de Ciências são fáceis de serem aplicadas e replicadas no cotidiano escolar, podendo ser ressignificadas pelos docentes conforme as necessidades de cada turma.
