Thus, the objective of this research was to investigate the potential of applying a didactic sequence with the QER approach in Chemistry classes in a 3rd year high school class at a public school in the city of Itacoatiara-AM. The research is qualitative in nature and involved the participation of 22 high school students. Three didactic sequences were conducted, each accompanied by an activity sheet containing essay questions (open). aiming to identify students' perceptions regarding the topics discussed during the study. The results made it clear that the introduction of teaching materials during classes plays a crucial role, as it arouses students' interest in actively participating. Therefore, the generating themes used proved to be effective tools for social thematic contextualization, thus contributing to more meaningful student engagement. Embora a Lei 10.639 tenha sido publicada em 2003, trazendo a obrigatoriedade do ensino de conteúdos de história e cultura africana e afro-brasileira no ensino público e privado, ainda hoje as Questões Étnico-Raciais (QER) estão pouco presentes nas escolas e nas pesquisas em Ensino de Química (EQ). Assim, o objetivo dessa pesquisa foi investigar as potencialidades da aplicação de uma sequência didática com a abordagem de QER nas aulas de Química de uma turma de 3º ano do Ensino Médio de uma escola pública da cidade de Itacoatiara-AM. A pesquisa é de cunho qualitativa, e contou com a participação de 22 estudantes do ensino médio. Foram conduzidas três sequências didáticas, cada uma acompanhada por uma ficha de atividade contendo questões dissertativas (aberta). visando identificar as percepções dos alunos em relação aos tópicos discutidos durante o estudo. Os resultados ficaram evidente que a introdução de materiais didáticos durante as aulas desempenha um papel crucial, pois desperta o interesse dos alunos em participar ativamente.
