Resumo:
This study addresses a proposal to implement a Wi-Fi Network, 802.11ac standard, at Escola do Novo Saber - Colégio Amapaense, with the intention of providing improvements in the execution of activities and enabling efficiency and quality of services in functional term of this wireless network. The choice of this subject is based on the possibility of promoting the implementation of services that promote progress in education. Due to the fact that many public schools in the state of Amapá still do not provide Internet access to the school community. The objective is to highlight the main features of the standard 802.11ac Router, when used in a school environment. This work was developed with relevant theoretical foundations, to understand the theme, with the trajectory since the evolution of the wireless network, using the bibliographic research, which was gradually developed using the quali-quantitative method, based on field research through school visits, with the application of interviews and analysis, it was possible to know the infrastructure of the teaching unit, finding the location of the active equipment of the network, and identifying them in the floor plan of the building, It is then possible to create the logical plan of the network, with the location of current devices and adding the suggestion of a router, Intelbras - AP 1350 AC, because this was the equipment chosen, for its technical specification and favorable characteristics for the network services needed for the school environment in question, in order to improve access and transfer the Wi-Fi network, to various sectors and including teachers and students for educational practice, such as research activities and more dynamic classes. This proposal will serve as a basis for other public schools in the state of Amapá, and seek the improvement of the educational network of public institutions related to PRODAP and SEED education and technology. Once implemented in schools, it can be considered viable and will contribute to their development.
