The snooker is a sport practiced all over the world, however, there is a taboo related to the prohibition of the snooker for the practice of minors of eighteen years. This prohibition, in fact, refers to the presence of minors in betting environments, where, most of the time, at snooker are found. The snooker, aimed at the practice of interested parties as a sport, could be inserted in the school environment, considering pedagogical potential. In mathematics, for example, the snooker can be used for the teaching of geometry. Taking this idea as a basis, the main objective of this work is to relate mathematics to everyday life through the pool game. Here, we will present the possible origins of the pool, its categories, its historical process in Brazil and the legislation regarding the pool as a sport. Regarding the content of Geometry that can be explored in the snooker, concepts and definitions will be presented that will also be necessary for the development of Chapter 4, where practices that can be developed in the snooker for the teaching of Geometry will be presented. For these practices, three scenarios will be proposed and for each of them, geometric strategies will be developed and exemplified step-by-step using Geogebra mathematical software as a resource.
