The objective of the research is to map, analyze and categorize the content of podcasts produced in
Tocantins, based on a typology produced by the author, as well as to verify if the media product
produced in the State follows the characteristics of regionality. The research takes as theoretical
support the studies of regional communication, proximity communication, media convergence and
podcast and makes use of mapping and participant observation for data collection. We identified 83
podcasts produced in the State, available on the main digital platforms, and were evaluated according
to the criteria of regionality, typology and whether they refer to the characteristics of convergence or
remediation. From the analysis, four podcasts were selected, one of each typology regarding the
production technique, for content analysis. With this research, it was possible to verify that the podcast
from Tocantins is used as a way of offering content on different platforms with the objective of
conquering different audiences, transforming them into a mass audience, instead of focusing on
original productions, with their own characteristics of podcasts.
