What we know about Mundurukú agriculture is little, and is based, for the most part, on the reports of travelers from the last century. Already at that time, the Mundurukú were presented as a people possessing a certain degree of primitive agriculture. These speak of the Mundurukú, as inhabitants of the banks of the Tapajós river and already in a first stage of acculturation to the environment of that time. ’ They deal with the subject “agriculture” as if it were an ancient cultural element among these Indians.
