The purpose is that, after this analysis and evaluation, it can be provided subsidy to whoever may be interested in adopting these kinds of Distance Learning management software or even using it for classroom teaching. The work is justified by the relevance of Virtual Learning Environment to the expansion of Distance Learning and by the importance of this modality to the process of democratization of knowledge in contemporaneity. It is a bibliographic research, given that it looks for results at already published papers, like books, articles and magazines. It is also a quantitative/qualitative research, as it uses qualitative data without abdicating of analysis, meanings and interpreting data. It was used a Model of Evaluation of ELV created and presented by Eliane Schlemmer in her doctoral thesis, in the year of 2002, at which she proposed to evaluate this kind of software following four different perspectives: a) Technical; b) Communicational/social; c) Didactic/pedagogical and d) Management. Afterwards, in an article of 2007, together with Saccol and Garrido, she presented a reformulation of the same model combining the technical and communicational/social perspectives. That reformulated model is the one we used in this work, with the three perspectives of evaluation of ELVs being the Technical/communicational/social, the Didactic/pedagogical and the Management. Este estudo consiste na análise e avaliação de ambientes virtuais de aprendizagem que têm como objetivo verificar o funcionamento das ferramentas disponíveis em AVAs de acordo com as perspectivas: Tecnológica/comunicacional/social, didática/pedagógica e de gestão (SCHLEMMER, SACCOL E GARRIDO, 2007). O propósito é que, a partir dessa análise e avaliação, possa ser dado subsídio aos possíveis interessados na adoção desse tipo de softwares para a gestão da EAD e até mesmo na sua utilização em cursos presenciais. O trabalho se justifica diante da relevância dos Ambientes Virtuais de Aprendizagem para expansão da EaD e da importância dessa modalidade para o processo de democratização do acesso ao conhecimento na contemporaneidade. É uma pesquisa bibliográfica, já que busca seus resultados em materiais já publicados como livros, artigos e periódicos. É também uma pesquisa quantitativa/qualitativa, pois faz uso dos dados qualitativos sem se abdicar de análises, significados e da interpretação dos dados. Foi utilizado um modelo de Avaliação de AVAs criado e apresentado por Eliane Schlemmer em sua tese de doutoramento no ano de 2002, em que ela propôs a avaliação desse tipo de softwares a partir de quatro perspectivas: a) Técnica, b) Comunicacional/social, c) Didático/pedagógica e d) Gestão. Posteriormente, em um artigo de 2007, juntamente com Saccol e Garrido, ela apresentou uma reformulação do referido modelo fazendo uma junção das perspectivas técnicas com a comunicacional/social.
