In this work we investigated the process of energy development and planning of the 08 microregions of the Tocantins that are part of the MATOPIBA (Maranhão State, Brazil) , Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia). Through the technical data investigated, it was possible to seek technical information and improvement works together with SEAGRO. With the increase in the availability of energy, renewable energy sources and new requested loads, actions were taken to improve the service to consumers and to new enterprises that fall within the new energy infrastructure of the municipalities. Within this context, it was possible to know: the amount of energy generation released in kilowatt (kW); renewable generation sources; the loads released in kilowatt (kW) for the years 2016 and 2017. Some municipalities in Tocantins, which are in increasing expansion, mainly by the migration of people in search of new opportunities such as employment, income, quality of life, installation of new ventures in agribusiness, among other opportunities. There are great prospects of growth in the energy deman. In order to meet the population and the new infrastructures, improvement and construction works will be carried out in the electric power areas in some cities of Tocantins, expected to start in 2018 and end in 2020.
