The present work aims to bring a reflection on the literature for children, their conceptions and the aspects that permeate the teaching process of reading in the Brazilian school. However, they seek to present the concepts and the diversities about reading and writing, thus being the first steps for learning, the acquisition of new skills that have importance in the formation of a reader. That brings growth in the educational and social character of reading and its importance in the life of man; besides the conception of literature for children and their importance in the formation of the personality of each person. We used articles from the SciElo, PubMed, Google Academic, and Electronic Journals for the academic scientific background. Reading is expected to play a very important role in the life of the reader, from the first steps, to the formation of the personality of the reader. Finally, it is concluded that for the formation of the habit of reading, it is necessary, from the first years of student life of the individual, a joint action of parents and educators in the sense of bringing the child closer to books; which is possible through the recognition of reading, and by extension of the literature, as an essential element in the development of a society. Todo educador preocupado em desempenhar satisfatoriamente seu papel social procura adquirir conhecimentos, que o oriente na promoção do pleno desenvolvimento do educando. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo trazer uma reflexão sobre a literatura para crianças, suas concepções e os aspectos que permeiam o processo de ensino da leitura na escola brasileira. Contudo buscam apresentar-se os conceitos e as diversidades sobre a leitura e escrita, sendo assim os primeiros passos para o aprendizado, a aquisição de novas habilidades que tenham importância na formação de um leitor. Que traga crescimento no caráter educacional e social da leitura e a importância desta na vida do homem; além da concepção de literatura para as crianças e sua importância na formação da personalidade de cada pessoa. Foram utilizados artigos dos sites SciElo, PubMed, Google Acadêmico, e Revistas eletrônicas para o embasamento científico acadêmico. Espera-se que a leitura desempenhe um papel de suma importância na vida do leitor, desde os primeiros passos, até a formação da personalidade. Por fim, conclui-se que, para a formação do hábito de leitura, faz-se necessário, desde os primeiros anos da vida estudantil do indivíduo, uma ação conjunta de pais e educadores no sentido de aproximar a criança aos livros; o que é possível mediante o reconhecimento da leitura, e por extensão da literatura, como elemento imprescindível no desenvolvimento de uma sociedade. 2019-09-25T19:06:52Z 2019-09-25T19:06:52Z 2019-09-25 Monografia SILVA, Graziella Bueno da.
