In this research will be approached questions related to the definition of deaf and deaf, a brief history of the deaf subject and their conquests, also highlighting what is Libras, discussions about bilingual education and a brief overview of the education of the deaf in Arraias-TO. Some of the authors used as reference were: Tacca and Martinez (2011), Gesser (2009), Coelho (2011), Strobel (2016), Reis (1992), Rocha (1997), Silva (2000), Strobel Lodi & Lacerda (2014), among others. It was also used LDB n.9394 / 96, LBI nº 13,146 / 2015, Law n. 10,436 / 2002 and documents made available by FENEIS. In this qualitative approach, a field research was carried out with the elaboration of semistructured interview scripts with a deaf student and a teacher, in which it was approached about the process of schooling and formation of both. At the end of the study, it was understood that both the teacher and the deaf student still need to learn more about Libras and make use of it in everyday life to have effective communication, that there are still failures in education regarding the training of specialized professionals to working with students with disabilities, as deaf students end up not having a quality and inclusive education. It was also stressed the importance of including deaf people in regular schools, pointing out that inclusion is not only carried out by the fact that the school has a support teacher who accompanies this student, since one of the school's reasons for becoming inclusive is when student's need is not a barrier so that he can develop along with his classmates. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo fazer uma reflexão sobre a surdez e analisar o processo de escolarização de uma aluna surda. Nesta pesquisa serão abordadas questões relacionadas à definição de surdez e surdo, uma breve história do sujeito surdo e suas conquistas, destacando também o que é Libras, discussões sobre a educação bilíngue e um breve panorama da educação dos surdos em Arraias-TO. Alguns dos autores usados como referência foram: Tacca e Martinez (2011), Gesser (2009), Coelho (2011), Strobel (2016), Reis (1992), Rocha (1997), Silva (2000), Strobel (2009), Lodi & Lacerda (2014), entre outros. Também foi utilizada a LDB n.9394/96, a LBI nº 13.146/2015, a Lei n 10.436/2002 e documentos disponibilizados pela FENEIS. Neste trabalho, de abordagem qualitativa, foi realizada uma pesquisa de campo com a elaboração de roteiros de entrevista semiestruturada com uma aluna surda e uma professora, em que foi abordado sobre o processo de escolarização e formação de ambas. Ao final do trabalho, compreendeu-se que tanto a professora quanto a aluna surda ainda precisam aprender mais sobre a Libras e a fazer uso dela no cotidiano para terem uma comunicação efetiva, que ainda existem falhas na educação em relação à formação de profissionais especializados para trabalhar com alunos com deficiência, pois os alunos surdos acabam não tendo uma educação de qualidade e inclusiva. Ressaltou-se ainda a importância da inclusão de pessoas surdas nas escolas regulares, apontando que a inclusão não é realizada apenas pelo fato de a escola ter um professor de apoio que acompanha este aluno, pois um dos motivos da escola se tornar inclusiva é quando a necessidade do aluno não é uma barreira para que ele possa se desenvolver junto com seus colegas de classe. 2019-09-25T20:25:16Z 2019-09-25T20:25:16Z 2019-09-25 Monografia LIMA, Monyque Campos.
