The neoliberal policy of the 1990s implemented in Latin American countries by the World
Bank modified economic thinking in Latin America. This influenced the studies of the
Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean. In this paper we will analyze
the effects of development policies and their linkage to the territory in the Mexican
countryside that was established with the entry of Mexico into the North American Free Trade
Agreement. In this context emerges the Zapatista National Liberation Army denouncing the
economic interests of the United States and promoting another form of territorial
development. |
