This text addresses some of the elements arising from the Educational Debate that took place
during the course of the Brazilian Educational Guidelines and Bases Law No. 4,024 of 1961,
which highlighted the conflict between the defenders of public education and the defenders of
private education. Our objective was to compare the Educators' Manifesto, Once Again
Convocation and the Manifesto on the Bases of Education, both published in the year 1959.
The research is of bibliographical and documentary nature. A temporal cut was made from
1948 to 1959, in order to understand the social causes that gave rise to the publication of the
two manifestos in question. In order to better elucidate the work we present each Manifesto,
who wrote, if there is an approximation of ideas between them, the divergent and convergent
points, as well as the educational conception defended by each of the documents. The two
Manifestos in dealing with education in a context of changes and new perspectives
contributed greatly to this theme being treated in our country as it should be. It aroused the
interest of the public power and also of civil society that perhaps for the first time in history
can accompany one of the biggest campaigns in favor of Brazilian education. |
