Introduction: After the age of 60, some health problems of the elderly may arise, such as the loss of their functional capacity, that is, the loss of physical and psychic abilities. And these are essential for performing the activities of daily living (ABVD's) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL's). And these modifications generate a high rate of chronic and degenerative diseases, where dementias are the most frequent disabling chronic diseases, among which Alzheimer's disease (AD) prevails. The elderly person with functional limitations needs permanent care, and because of this, a person is chosen to provide care, and usually this task is assigned to a family member, and when performing this function, exhaustive tasks can have implications. quality of life (QOL) of family caregivers. Objective: To analyze in scientific production the factors associated with the quality of life of family caregivers of elderly with Alzheimer's. Methodology: This is a narrative review of the literature, indexed in the databases BDENF, LILACS and SciELO library from 2014 to June 2019. The articles were subjected to a careful reading. The information collected was analyzed through a table and table built in Word 2016. Results and Discussion: We found 11 articles that met the inclusion criteria and answered the guiding question. Regarding sociodemographic characteristics, prevailed the female gender, being a child, aged between 27 and 80 years old, married, complete high school, cohabiting with the patient, family income of 1 to 3 minimum wages and most had no employment relationship. From the analysis of the results emerged four (4) categories: domains of quality of life; feelings to the act of caring; caregiver burden; change in personal and social life. Final Considerations: In all the reviewed articles, it was clear that the health of caregivers, physical, emotional and social, was harmful. The associated factors that interfere with the quality of life of the elderly family caregiver are the result of multiple consequences. Such factors are simultaneously affected, such as self-abdication, lack of knowledge about the disease, overload, lack of family and professional support, negative feelings about caring, and role reversal.
