Resumo:
Objective: To present scientific evidence about nursing care directed to individuals undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. Methodology: This is a narrative review of the literature, previously called "bibliographic review", carried out in the database Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature. Gray or gray literature was also included as a source of bibliographic research. The search has occurred in October 2019. We included 5 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Results: The survey and analysis of the articles through the records showed that well-planned and structured nursing management, follow-up of signs and symptoms of patient undergoing treatment, self-care incentives, guidance on chemotherapy and their adverse effects are nursing care of great relevance to chemotherapy treatment. Final Considerations: Nursing care goes beyond professional contact, involving emotional, cultural, affective and psychic factors; Since effective nursing care directly affects the patient's self-care, enabling self-confidence in the chemotherapy process, in which the nurse's performance favors health promotion with possible good results on the quality of life of patients undergoing chemotherapy.
