The research aimed to examine the effects of the Programa Bolsa Familia in the daily lives of women beneficiaries Ilha Verde Settlement, with a focus on gender empowerment and relationships. This camp is located in the municipality of Babaçulândia inside the state of Tocantins, distant 446 km from the capital Palmas. Methodologically used the Oral History, to understand gender issues and women's empowerment, especially the trajectory of those historically excluded from the written documents, in this case, Ilha Verde Settlement women. In interviews with women narrated about his daily life; the way they deal with the benefit of the Programa Bolsa Familia and how that benefit influence on the household budget. He sought to understand the extent to which the Program can trigger the process of empowerment or not of the families within the Personal, Close Relationships and Collective Dimension’ proposed by Zapata et. al. (2008). It was noticed within these theoretical assumptions of Zapata, the Programa Bolsa Familia did not contribute to empower women in all dimensions. In the research identified almost the wholes of the inhibiting factors of empowerment and none of the push factors. |
