Resumo:
The objective of this research is to analyze how indigenist policies and their representations about indigenous peoples in Goiás in the second half of the 19th century; highlighting an action of the Imperial Government in relation to the Krahô peoples. In order to carry out this geo-historical analysis, the reports of the Capuchin missionaries, the bibliographic studies and the various territories administered by Krahô, until their fixation between the leaders Manuel Alves Grande and Manoel Alves Pequeno, north of the province of Goiás, present state of Tocantins. According to a survey, this town is one of the branches of the Timbira nation, which originally occupied the coast of Maranhão. As territorializations and reterritorializations made by Krahô occise due to several factors, such as: the territorial occupation of non-indigenous encouraged by the Government; as influences of the growing agropastoral fronts, the desmandos of the inhabitants of the camps, population growth and escape from contact with non-Indians.
