This research aims to investigate the monitorship in the context of the Federal University of
Tocantins in the language of English Language course, precisely the role of monitoring as a
supportive agent and training for the student monitor. The objective is to demonstrate how the
monitorship can be determining to the academic growth in education, and in the perspective
of the formation of the students as monitor. The research is qualitative, aimed at the target
audience of the monitors and coordinating professors of the Institutional Monitoring Program.
In this search the data was acquired through the use of questionnaires. All the information
provided from the answers are according to the results, aiming to support the use of
monitorship for the teaching-learning training by staff and, consequently, the academic
training with a role played by the student-monitor in its participation in monitoring activities
within the university. Based on the research and analyzes made from the questionnaire and the
views of the participants, the research reached its specific objective, being concerned to
contribute to the monitoring perspective as a support to the teacher training, investigating a
case study at the Federal University of Tocantins. In this way, we can verify the support
provided by the program, and for this happen, it is necessary to have an effective presence of
the student-monitor in all the activities involved in the process, as well as a change in thinking
about oneself about their role in society. |
