Resumo:
Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) is a grass grown in various regions of the world aiming at the production of grain and biomass, has recently been given greater importance as an alternative for obtaining ethanol from its stem. Currently there are several alternatives for bioenergy production, but sweet sorghum is highlighted by presenting short cycle and production of green with a high concentration of sugars in its stalk can be a complement in the growing season of cane sugar. However there is a need to point out which cultivars better adapted to a particular region. The objective of this study was to determine among the cultivars, which are the most suitable for the production of biomass and bioenergy. The results indicate that for the central state of Tocantins the cultivars that showed better results in caracters evaluated: Flowering: BR 503; earlier and later cultivar, height: CMSXS 643; Mass Green t ha-1: CMSXS 630; t dry matter ha -1: CMSXS 647; Volume Juice l / no: CMSXS 647;% Juice Extraction: CMSXS 647; Brix: BRS 506 and CMSXS 642; pH of the broth: BR 505; AR% Juice: CMSXS 636; Pol%: BRS 506; Fiber%: CMSXS 648; Pureza%: CMSXS 636; ATR: CMSXS 636 ; Estimated ethanol production: CMSXS 647.
