Resumo:
This dissertation aims to establish a connection between the development of the federal gov-ernment housing policies, the growth or expansion of the construction companies seen as so-cial agents of this market, acting or not in the social housing, and the economic field framed by these agents. For that purpose, a multiple correspondence analysis (ACM) was carried out, with the characteristics of 20 construction firms and their owners in Palmas, State of Tocan-tins. The civil construction sector has been revealed as very important in the maintenance of the economic growth of the country, even when the world faces an economic crisis. This vi-sion has been underpinned by the development of a housing policy originated in the former government, with a strong capital injection in this segment starting from the housing credit and the joining of several housing programs in only one – the Minha Casa Minha Vida Pro-gram, that attains the social housing as well as the market one. In Palmas, this insertion of housing credit has brought forth acute changes in the scenario, in its physical space, with an interrelationship with its economic and social space; from this perception of the space as in-ventory or merchandise, it is possible to observe its social production that surpasses the exclu-sively economic criteria of the housing sector. The social world relates itself with the housing policies in Palmas through a basic social need, the habitation, and through the action of public and private agents. The space that these agents take up in the economic field undergoes direct and indirect interferences of the housing policy that is developed by the federal government. Through the ACM, it was possible to establish links that connect this relations network and to constitute elements that may highten the action of the agents in the social world, thus demon-strating the divergent position in the space between the social housing firms and the market housing enterprises.
