Objective: To get to know the students' perception about the use of innovative teaching strategies for interprofessional work in the care of the elderly. Method: Qualitative and quantitative study, carried out with students from the Nursing, Medicine and Nutrition courses of a public university, who took an optional course “Elderly Health Care: an interprofessional approach”, in 2019. Data collection included the realization focus group and application of a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis Test and Content Analysis. Results: Nine students were evaluated, with an average of 104.4 points for availability of interprofessional learning, and reported the development of collaborative skills such as working in a team, communicating effectively and planning comprehensive care for the elderly. It was also possible to identify, from the students' reports, the perceptions regarding innovative teaching methodologies that were categorized into three phenomena: On the scene I, the student; Scenario for sharing, learning, teaching and reframing the other; Freedom to learn. Conclusions: The individualized expressions of the students participating in this study, makes us believe that interprofessional learning qualifies as an opportunity for the development of collaborative skills. The use of active teaching methodologies allowed students to be protagonists in the teaching and learning process and to express freedom in learning. Introdução: Em meio a um cenário de discussão entre os atuais currículos de graduação na Saúde e as habilidades práticas desenvolvidas, propostas educacionais são relevantes para a transformação de futuros profissionais de saúde, que possam promover a mudança na cultura dos cuidados em saúde, em especial, às demandas da pessoa idosa. Objetivo: Conhecer a percepção dos discentes sobre o uso de estratégias de ensino inovadoras para a atuação interprofissional no cuidado da pessoa idosa. Método: Estudo qualiquantitativo, realizado com discentes dos cursos de Enfermagem, Medicina e Nutrição de uma universidade pública, que cursaram uma disciplina optativa “Atenção à Saúde do Idoso: uma abordagem interprofissional”, em 2019. A coleta de dados incluiu a realização de grupo focal e aplicação de um questionário. Os dados foram analisados por meio do Teste Kruskal-Wallis e Análise de Conteúdo. Resultados: Avaliaram-se nove discentes que apresentaram média 104,4 pontos para disponibilidade de aprendizagem interprofissional, e relataram o desenvolvimento de competências colaborativas como o trabalhar em equipe, comunicar-se efetivamente e a planejar o cuidado integral ao idoso. Também foi possível identificar a partir do relato dos discentes, as percepções frente as metodologias de ensino inovadoras que foi categorizada em três fenômenos: Em cena eu, o educando; Cenário para compartilhar, aprender, ensinar e ressignificar o outro; Liberdade para aprender. Conclusões: As expressões individualizadas dos discentes participantes deste estudo, nos faz acreditar que a aprendizagem interprofissional se qualifica como uma oportunidade para o desenvolvimento das competências colaborativas.
