Resumo:
This work tried to discuss the category women and informal work from the Brazilian reality. In this way, we established as a general objective of the research to investigate the informal work of women in contemporary Brazil, in the context of the capital crisis and changes in the world of work, based on bibliographic and documentary research. The documentary research focused on gathering data on the reality of informal work in the Brazilian context, to confirm that the number of women who are inserted in informality is relatively high, and they have been subjected to numerous processes of precariousness, exploitation and uneven working conditions. The specific objectives for the construction of this work are to discuss the gender category and its articulations with the struggle of women; to analyze the gender inequalities expressed in the world of work in the Brazilian reality; and to discuss the working conditions of women working in the informal sector. In the first chapter, a historical overview of women's struggles in society was provided, related to gender, race and class, and their contexts of incessant struggles against patriarchy and capitalism. In the second chapter, we reflected on the crises of capitalism and its participation in the sexual division of labor, and the socioeconomic formation of the country, which is based on the overexploitation of the labor force. In the world of work, the advancement of neoliberalism and the dismantling of social protection were factors that contributed to the growth of informal work. This sexual division of labor affects women mainly, thus making them the majority in informal work, without rights and labor guarantees.
