This work deals with research about psychological distress on the servers of Brazilian public institutions in articles published in the Scielo platform in the period 2004-2013, in order to examine how the theoretical diagnoses published point discourses and hegemonic values disseminated by the media of mass and the consumer society. Theoretical discussion was held about consumerism and mass media, using constructs Debord, Bauman and Chanlat, for example. Second moment was held exhibitions on the psychodynamics of work, from the perspective of Christopher Dejours, presenting concepts of suffering, organization and division of labor, defensive strategies and mental load. The methodology used was treated qualitative research and data content analysis. Among the items collected the most used concepts were selected, with which subjects were worked out and identified gaps in research about the suffering in the work of public institutions in Brazil. It was presented account of the forms of work organization, presenting concepts of Arendt, Dowbor and Harvey. It was identified that the main concepts presented about mental suffering are burnout, mental disorders and poor working conditions. The explanatory matrix for the cause of suffering is composed mainly by physical, vocal and/or mental fatigue, work overload, bureaucratization of work organization, time contamination out of work and lack of recognition. In conclusion we can say that the sufferings of civil servants can be extended by a company that through the mass media sets standards. |
