This paper aimed to analyze the fight and agrarian conflicts that occurred from 1970 to 1980 in the region of BicodoPapagaio, Tocantins State, Brazil. The Systematic Examination of this conflicted region was made by the exploratory and descriptive method for understanding the way how the conflicts occurred in this temporal and spatial period. The main results indicated that the conflicts in the region were the most violentin the history of the country. The Comissão Pastoral da Terra (The Land Pastoral Commission), linked to Catholic Church, was the main actor to support and fight for possession of the land in favor of small producers. In the 1990s, the terror scenario has given to way the strengthening of the social capital through the Rural Unions and Associations, local cooperatives, and implementation of public policies by the Federal and State Governments in this region under study region. However, the region of Bico doPapagaio has a long way to be covered for achieving an just economic and social development.
