Resumo:
The objective of the present work was to evaluate the productive potential of tropical forages Urocloa spp, in an area with a history of sudden death syndrome. The experimental design was in randomized blocks, with six treatments with four replications. The evaluated treatments were represented by six forages of the genus Urochloa, three commercial materials (Marandu, Xaraés and Mavuno) and three pre-release materials (Hybrids 01, 03 and 06 belonging to the Barenbrug tropical grass improvement program in Brazil). The variables analyzed were forage canopy height (cm), Forage accumulation rate (kg ha-1 ano-1 ), Leaf accumulation (kg ha-1 ano -1 ), Leaf blade accumulation (kg / ha1 ), Leaf blade accumulation rate (kg ha-1 ano-1 ), Leaf blade percentage (% LF), Stalk percentage (% C), Stalk leaf ratio (kg ha-1 ano-1 ), Tiller population density (m2 ). Hybrid 03 and Hybrid 06 grass stood out in relation to leaf production, leaf leaf accumulation, percentage of leaf blade, leaf leaf and leaf accumulation rate, higher tiller population density and lesser stem accumulation. The results presented showed that it is possible to live with the sudden death of Brachiaria in soils with limitation of the temporary restriction to water percolation, as long as fertility is improved by correcting the levels of Ca, Mg, K and P, and fertilization is carried out. nitrogenous frequently.
