This work presents a reflection on the education of the deaf in Brazil today. Pointing out educational methods that were and are deficient for school development and success for the deaf student. Based on a teaching ideology supported by a bilingual perspective. The bilingual educational methodis based on the premise of a linguistic policy that recognizes Sign Language as a language of instruction and mediation between deaf and hearing people and the teaching of Portuguese in its written form. It is a research with a qualitative and applied approach, since it is directed to the solution of problems in a specific and objective way to direct knowledge for practical application. This is a bibliographic research, where it sought the foundations of researchers in the area as well as the support of the current laws to suggest an educational method that meets the specificities of the deaf community, as well as, the position of the deaf regarding Bilingualism as a linguistic and Cultural community. |
