Resumo:
This paper aims to discuss the challenges that are related to the educational process of deaf students and their specific needs, emphasizing the need for the presence of a translator and interpreter of the linguistic pair Libras and Portuguese within the school spaces to support both the deaf student and the teacher, aiming at the best learning through the appropriate methodologies used by the teachers and how they are adapted so that there is indeed the inclusion of the deaf student in the classroom of regular education. Because we still experience a reality in which the majority of teachers do not have adequate training and qualifications to work with these students, also highlighting the lack of structure in schools to provide care, thus leaving the teacher in a difficult situation, which unfortunately plagues our education. For that, a bibliographic research was carried out with the use of books, texts, theses and others to solve the questions and questions that permeate this dimension, and we point out that special education in recent years has gained more space and this contributes to more effective actions that come to contemplate the particularities and needs of these students. The work is divided into three parts and begins with a brief history of special education. The second part addresses some legal foundations of teaching performance in special education and finally, considerations are made about aspects of teaching performance in special education. And in the sequences, the final considerations are made.
