There is a growing interest in the third sector in Brazil, even though the concept is still under construction. When considering the articulation in networks as a key means of expression of these institutions, this study aims to understand the role of non-governmental social support organizations (NGOs) from Palmas city – TO and identify, by analyzing the network centrality measures, the most influential actors and their relations of proximity and intermediation. Through interviews, a profile of the activity of municipal NGOs was drawn, identifying the most important ones to mass; it was found that there is a low utilization of the network and therefore a great potential for expansion; it was also noticed that state institutions have an important role for the network, but NGOs are still hinging, more frequent and priority basis, with the first non-governmental sector. |
