In view of the need for alternative means to assist the studies of waveguides, this project seeks
to develop a tool that simulates the electric and magnetic fields in the rectangular and circular
waveguides. Allowing the student to obtain field intensity and vector diagram graphs, in which
the flow lines of the electric and magnetic fields can be visualized inside the guide. The user
can also make simulations of standardized guides on the market or design and simulate his own
guide. The tool simulates in the TE and TM propagation modes, and different frequencies and
dielectric materials can be used. It was developed using the GNU OCTAVE software, which
has a computer language that is easy to understand, in addition to being freely available. The
interaction with the tool is simple and takes place through interactive menus, data entry boxes
and message boxes. Simulations were also made of some of the waveguides pre-configured in
the tool and the results were discussed. |
