Resumo:
The aim of this study was to identify the species of greatest importance to the maintenance of pollen, evaluate the chemical composition of the pollen collected by bees and estimate periods of lesser and greater provision of this facility during the study periods in ecotoneCerrado Amazon, countryside of Araguaína, TO. Three colonies of Apis mellifera were evaluated as the production of pollen in function of rainfall in the region, named T1 –dry season, T2 - dry transition waters, T3 - Rain 1, T4 - Rain 2 and T5 - Transition dry water, between the months of August 2013 to July 2015. Honey bees foraged for pollen throughout the trial period, with increased production in the morning. In T3 and T5 were higher daily production of pollen in relation to other stations, however even with production in the rainy season, the pollen collected presented are often broken due to the high moisture content contained therein. There were significant differences in percentage of dry matter pollen between seasons, with a decrease in dry matter content due to the increase of the average relative humidity (RH), and average monthly rainfall. The protein value T4 was the one with the highest percentage, 33.18%, compared to the other treatments. Throughout the study the Arecaceae and Poaceae families were the ones that had greater participation. It isconcluded that for the ecotoneCerradoAmazon to foraging for pollen throughout the year with the highest production of pollen occurs in periods of higher average relative humidity rainfall. However, there is need for more studies to adapt pollen collectors that help reduce this moisture.
