Resumo:
The Hibiscus sabdariffa L. is very appreciated as an infusion or soluble extracts of their flowers. In this research, infusion and soluble extract of H. sabdariffa were used with the aim of evaluate the antioxidante capacity and the content of phenolic compounds, as well as the content of reducing and non reducing sugars of these infusions and extracts. The study presented a randomized design, being the samples selected for convenience. Spectrophotomectric methods were used to perform the quantification of total phenolic compounds, flavonoids, total and condensed tannins, monomeric anthocyanins, as well reducing and non reducing sugars and evaluation of antioxidant capacity. The obtained results show the analysis had significative results, corroborating with described results in literature, showing that the infusions had superior results for the evaluated phenolic compounds and antioxidante activity and fewer sugar contente. However, it is evident the absent of researches about quantification of bioactives, as well sugars on soluble extracts. Also were verified the beneficial effects of phenolic compounds and antioxidant capacity of H. sabdariffa, having appreciable content of these compounds on this plant.
