Resumo:
Concrete is a material widely used in structures in civil construction, therefore, the need to seek materials that make up more and more efficient is evident, in order to improve construction processes and reduce costs. The use of EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) in the production of concrete, partially replacing the coarse aggregate, reduces the specific mass of the concrete, modified as a reduction in the structure's own weight, thus generating impacts on the consumption of some materials such as steel and reducing the active efforts in foundations. The objective of this work is to verify the impacts of using lightweight concrete compared to conventional concrete in the construction of a 110m2 house, carrying out a comparative analysis of the costs of materials performed in the execution of the building structure in question with the help of SINAPI input table. Through the study carried out, it was possible to observe a reduction in the structure's own weight compared to conventional concrete (approximately 35%), which resulted in a reduction in the consumption of steel in the superstructure and no volume of concrete used in the foundations.
