Resumo:
This work seeks to understand and identify the communication mechanisms that the Barra da Aroeira Quilombola Community uses as tactics to preserve its history, and the importance of this history to ensure survival and territory for future generations. Using orality as the main source, we used the method and methodology of Oral History and identified that the community uses various communication mechanisms to reaffirm its history and identity and also dialogue with government sectors and institutions to ensure the access to public policies and promote training that can bring income and improvements to their life quality.
