The research aims to perform a critical-comparative documental analysis between the Teaching
of Journalism in Brazil and Portugal, in order to understand the level of convergence between
the pedagogical curricular guidelines that guide the respective trainings. In this context, a
delimitation was made for the North Region of the country and, subsequently, for the
Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT). In Portugal, the degree in Journalism and
Communication from the University of Coimbra (UC) was chosen for the comparison of
information. A documental survey following Cellard's five dimensions (2012) was carried out
in the Curricular Pedagogical Projects of the Institutions, so that the teaching practices could
be studied. In this part, the study space was used to analyze the PPCs of all the universities in
the Northern Region of Brazil that offer, until the year 2021, the undergraduate degree in
Journalism or Social Communication - Journalism. In order to organize the methodological
path, the research was defined as basic in nature; documental and bibliographic; qualitative;
with descriptive and comparative approaches; and, to guide the process of pre-analysis, material
exploration and treatment of results, content analysis was chosen. One of the considerations
raised in the study is that the UFT built the guidelines for the teaching of Journalism in a
technical way and with a wealth of information. At the Portuguese University there is no
specific document that deals with this issue, but a site with hyperlinks and general information.
It is worth noting the commercial character observed in the European institution. Differently
from the UFT's PPC, which focuses on teaching information practically in its entirety, at the
UC the information on how to get in and stay at the University gains greater prominence. |
