The Federal Universities Units for Early Childhood Education were created in the
intense demands of the Social Movements in the 1970s. Nowadays, they are allied
with teaching, research development, experimentation with new pedagogical
practices, teacher training, creation, implementation and evaluation of a new
curriculum. These units, benefit not only children, but academics, researchers,
teachers and the community, with a space that still has a certain pedagogical autonomy
of the municipal units. The localization of the Federal University Unit for Early
Childhood Education Favo de Mel is strategic, understanding that the target audience
is not only children of pre-school age, but researchers, students, employees of the
university and the community in general. The design of school buildings is a major
challenge for architects, as these must be places that foster positive appropriation by
the child. The preliminary project of the Federal University Unit for Early Childhood
Education Favo de Mel, focuses on school projects with effective solutions, offering a
public building with architectural and environmental quality aspects, a model to be
followed. For that, in a first moment, exploratory and bibliographic researches were
carried out, conceptualizing and contextualizing the theme. In these researches,
theoretical elements were presented that conceptualize the history of early childhood
education schools in Brazil and more specifically in federal universities. Correlates are
presented to inspirit the preliminary project, which will be based on sustainability and
environmental aspects. Finally, a data survey and analysis of the conditions of the
location for the implementation of the project were done, providing the realization of
the preliminary project proposed here. |
