This report describes the activities developed during the supervised internship, carried out in the area of medical clinic and small animal surgery, at Clínica Mundo dos Bichos, located in the city of Araguaína-Tocantins. The internship period was from September 14th to November 17th, 2021, with a total workload of 345 hours. The clinical cases followed were in canines and felines, with a higher incidence of hematopoietic diseases, diseases of the reproductive system, as well as monitoring of the dogs' vaccination schedule. Furthermore, in cats, a higher incidence of bladder stones and fractures was observed. Among the cases followed up, we chose to report canine ehrlichiosis disease due to the greater number of cases that occurred in the period. Of 45 suspected dogs, 25 (55.6%) tested positive on the SNAP 4Dx Plus rapid test. Additionally, CBC was performed on 19 animals that tested positive and anemia was observed in 10 (60%) animals and thrombocytopenia 12(60%) animals. The animals showed collective signs including evidence of ocular changes 11/25 (44%) and in 7/25 (28%) the presence of ectoparasites. |
