Its etiology can have a genetic, traumatic, inflammatory, or degenerative origin, with a predisposition to animals of large breeds such as Rottweiler, Chow-Chow, Labrador, elderly and that have a history of obesity or immune-mediated diseases. During the internship, two clinical cases of elderly patients who presented ILCCr, manifesting lameness without the support of the affected limb on the ground, were followed up. The diagnosis was made mainly through the cranial drawer and tibial compression tests, with the aid of complementary exams for confirmation. The treatment of choice for both cases was the fabelotibial suture, due to the practicality and ease of the procedure. After the procedure, the animals recovered quickly and smoothly, and were soon referred to continue treatment through physical therapy. The correct diagnosis and institution of the appropriate surgical technique promote the efficiency of treatment and medical management, guaranteeing the animal an adequate postoperative period and functional recovery of the affected limb. Along with this work, it accompanies the supervised curricular internship report, in which the activities performed and the internship location are described. A Insuficiência do Ligamento Cruzado Cranial (ILCCr) é uma das principais afecções que acometem a articulação do joelho dos cães. Sua etiologia pode ter origem genética, traumática, inflamatória ou degenerativa, com predisposição à animais das raças de grande porte como Rottweiler, Chow-Chow, Labrador, idosos e que possuem histórico de obesidade ou doenças imunomediadas. Durante o estágio foram acompanhados dois casos clínicos de pacientes idosos que apresentaram a ILCCr, manifestando claudicação sem o apoio do membro acometido ao solo. O diagnóstico foi feito principalmente pelos testes de gaveta cranial e de compressão tibial, com o auxílio de exames complementares para confirmação. O tratamento de escolha para ambos os casos foi a sutura fabelotibial, devido à praticidade e facilidade do procedimento. Após o procedimento, os animais obtiveram recuperações rápidas e tranquilas, logo encaminhados para prosseguir o tratamento por meio da fisioterapia. O correto diagnóstico e instituição da técnica cirúrgica adequada promovem a eficiência no tratamento e da conduta médica, garantindo ao animal um pós-operatório adequado e recuperação funcional do membro afetado.
