This dissertation has as its theme the way to communicate the pain of mourning on the social
network Instagram. The objective of this research is to understand the use of the social network
Instagram as a space for interaction and sharing of perinatal mourning, (mourning for the loss
of the child in the gestacional period and up to 28 days after birth) as well as to verify if there
is social recognition of this mourning in the opinion of the bereaved mothers, whose profiles
were analyzed here, as well as by the users of the social network Instagram who follow these
profiles. In addition, there are specific objectives: to know who are these mothers are calling
themselves mothers of angel, (mothers who lose babies in the perinatal phase) who report their
pain in posts and comments; how they express themselves in the face of each other's pain and
whether there are patterns of interaction within these Instagram profiles. For this, this work is
based on the content analysis proposed by Bardin (2016) and Iramuteq software was used to
observe the existence or not of interaction patterns in the comments of feed publications. Some
information could be visually represented in chart and table format. It was concluded that
Instagram works as a support and support for perinatal grief with regard to the safe place to
vent mothers, as well as to feel heard and understood in pain. It was also verified through the
interviews that the mothers, whose profiles were studied here, consider that there is, in general,
no social recognition of this mourning. There is a pattern of interaction in which reports attract
other reports and many mothers share phrases heard during the grieving process. The study also
showed that those surveyed use Instagram as a meeting space and sharing of their experiences
as the emotional pains of grief. |
