This text aims to present a study on the work “The Little Prince”, by the French
author Antoine de Saint-Exupery, as a multimodal text. We see that there is a
large presence of images drawn by the author himself, which contributes and
enriched the written narrative, and makes it even more attractive to the target
audience, which are the children. The objective here is to understand the strong
relations between image and text, thus checking their meanings and how they
broaden the reader's imagination. The book "The Little Prince" was published in
1943, it had and still has a great repercussion among the world public. It is the
third best selling book in the history of the classics. Despite being a work of
Children's Literature, its broad content and various facets of human existence
also direct it to adults. Our research for this work was a bibliographic study and
a qualitative analysis. We find that the written and visual discourses of the work
“The Little Prince” can no longer exist separately, showing the richness of both
narratives and the junctions that will last forever in our imagination. |
