Resumo:
This work discusses the process of construction of memory in the novel Two Brothers, by Milton Hatoum (2000), from the fragmentation element. To this end, it uses the theoretical notes of Giorgio Agamben (2009), on the contemporary literary work; Anthony Giddens (2002) and Stuart Hall (2013), with the notes on High Modernity and/or Later Modernity, as well as the idea of hybridity, discussed by Hall (2013). To understand the memory game in the hatouniana narrative, taking into account that there are gaps and silencing in the memories, based on the critical-theoretical studies of Michael Pollak (1989), Maurice Halbwachs (2003), Didi-Huberman (2011) and Carlos Borges da Silva Júnior (2008). The conceptions about the postmodern narrator are starring by the theoretical incursions of Silviano Santiago (2002 [1986]) in contrast to the studies of Walter Benjamin (2012). For the analysis, were selected the excerpts from the book Two Brothers, that highlight the memory fragments of the characters Halim and Nael, having as methodology the analysis literary narrative. As a result of the study, is it possible point out that the images of the past appear as flashes, an intermittent aspect of memories.
