This study aims to understand the process of construction of female teaching in school Physical
Education, from the trajectory of a teacher from the city of Tocantinópolis-TO, since the process
of insertion of women in the labor market was solidifying through many struggles and female
resistance. In this, Physical Education was seen as an area in its various masculinized and
hierarchical dimensions in relation to bodily manifestations from the practices of Gymnastics
and the process of sportivization, reverberating in the mostly male faculty. The research has
characteristics of a case study, with an exploratory character and a qualitative approach, where
the information obtained cannot be quantified and the data obtained are analyzed inductively,
using the semi-structured interview as a tool for data collection. During the research, the data
collected were analyzed according to the understanding and knowledge acquired about the
process of construction of female teaching, relating the interviewee's reports with the theoretical
approach. Through this study it was concluded that the teaching identity is built from personal
and professional aspirations and that the cycles and phases interfere in the professional
development in relation to the teaching career, so that the professional trajectory is made from
experiences that have factors that directly or indirectly influence this process, thus, teaching
Physical Education in schools in its broad area allows, from this perspective, the possibility of
pedagogical practices within the discipline to problematize historical processes and their
representations present in the school context, in addition to build values in the professional
field. However, despite the advances in the struggles for the occupation of spaces by the female
public, gender inequality still exists in several areas, which can be observed throughout this
research. More in-depth studies are still needed on the subject of gender relations specifically
in school Physical Education, highlighting the advances in female struggles and the
deconstruction of stereotypes of masculinity and femininity, thus being able to reaffirm that
women can exist as they wish. |
