It is a work that initially presents a literature review that contemplates relevant concepts and understandings about the proposed theme, presenting its essentiality in general. As a way of emphasizing the approach carried out here, the results achieved with a survey carried out at the Municipal Education Department of the city of Araguaína in the state of Tocantins are shown in the second part of this work, which demonstrates through graphics and flowcharts the impacts brought to the functioning of the secretariat with the adoption of measures for the disposal of electronic waste such as printer cartridges that will no longer be used or recharged by members of SEMED Araguaína. As a result, it is demonstrated that the adoption of actions such as these positively influence the preservation of the environment and the social and environmental responsibility both of organizations responsible for selling cartridges and of entities belonging to the government. Este artigo tem como temática “os caminhos da sustentabilidade com o descarte consciente de cartuchos: um estudo realizado junto à Secretaria Municipal de Educação de Araguaína – TO”. Trata-se de um trabalho que inicialmente apresenta uma revisão de literatura que contempla conceitos e entendimentos relevantes sobre o tema proposto, apresentando a sua essencialidade de forma geral. Como forma de dar ênfase à abordagem aqui realizada, é demonstrada na segunda parte desse trabalho os resultados alcançados com a realização de uma pesquisa feita na Secretaria Municipal de Educação da cidade de Araguaína no estado do Tocantins, que demonstra por meio de gráficos e fluxogramas os impactos trazidos para o funcionamento da secretaria com a adoção de medidas de destinação de resíduos eletroeletrônicos como os cartuchos de impressoras que não serão mais utilizados nem recarregados pelos membros da SEMED Araguaína.
