With the advancement of technology, the market has become increasingly competitive, and
companies are seeking to improve themselves to better serve their customers. Good routing
planning has become essential for optimizing logistical costs, especially for transport
companies. These costs can amount to 59% of the organization's total costs. This paper aims to
analyze the vehicle routing process of a company located in the city of Araguaína, Tocantins,
which has been operating for over 20 years in the transport sector. The present study conducted
a bibliographical survey in specialized literature and applied a questionnaire, followed by an
interview, to collect primary data. The results obtained show that companies are increasingly
concerned with market competition, resulting in the demand for software that meets corporate
needs. The company in question uses Google Maps as a tool to assist in the routing process for
a more efficient planning of routes, in addition to relying on the help and experience of the
drivers themselves. This tool allows the creation of routes in a simple way and at an affordable
cost.
