This research aimed to analyze the impacts caused by the disposal of solid waste in auto parts
companies in the city of Imperatriz - Maranhão. This is a Case Study, according to empirical
orientation of knowledge description, in which 5 companies that operate in the field were
surveyed and that, through a pre-prepared interview script, sought to identify the problem of
the study. Considering that putting into practice the execution of procedures that can guarantee
the balance between the economy and the environment, in particular that established by Law
12.305/2010, requires the adoption of reverse logistics activities and actions, which plays a
structuring role in the sustainable development, in its various dimensions, whether in the
identification, operationalization of collection processes, transport of waste to the recycling
industry, and also, relating the actors involved in the shared responsibility for the life cycle of
products. In view of this, it appears that companies maintain a parameter adopted in their
processes and procedures, even though the materials most discarded in the processes are plastics
and cardboard and finally identified that most companies do not have a specific place for the
disposal of materials. recyclable, which requires the verification that the waste generated is
discarded on a regular basis.
