Asset management is important in all organizational spheres, whether in the public or private
sphere, because it is about the control of resources. The use of technologies to monitor
internal assets has become increasingly common. One of these advances coincides with the
use of the Radio Frequency Identification System (RFID), which uses electromagnetic waves
to capture, receive and process data. The study aims to describe how asset control, using the
RFID tag and its possible effectiveness, can optimize the inventory process. To achieve the
proposed objective, the semi-structured interview technique was used. The analysis of the
results showed that, with the use of the radiofrequency identification system, there was a gain
in agility and reliability in the control and maintenance of the patrimony, but there are still
obstacles to be overcome so that the system can be satisfactorily implemented in the unit in
question. study.
