Psychology has reserved a secondary place for the countryside, with regard to professional practices and research, focusing exclusively on the urban context. We ponder how broad and diverse Brazil's rural population is. In this perspective, we can think about the insertion of Psychology in rural contexts from Rural Education, an educational modality that has been constituted in the midst of a historical process of innumerable social movements and organizations, characterized by the principle that people who live in the field are entitled to a quality education, designed and dedicated specifically to their reality. This research aims to analyze how School and Educational Psychology (PEE) has contributed or can contribute to Rural Education. We project possible spaces and demands for Psychology in the rural educational and school context, supported by a critical reference in PEE. In this way, we reflect on the particularities of ruralities and Rural Education in Brazil. Therefore, we carried out a Bibliographic Review based on consultations in different databases: SciELO; VHL-Psi; PePSIC; and Google Scholar. And then we undertook an analysis of the publications of the Revista Psicologia Escolar e Educacional, of the Brazilian Association of School and Educational Psychology (ABRAPEE), between the years 2000 and 2020. The results point to a distancing of psychology in relation to ruralities, peoples and Education from Camp. In this way, we bet on the need to insert content related to these themes in the training process of the Psychology professional. |
