Resumo:
This work shows the development of family agriculture Araguainense, highlighting the function of family gardens and their relevance within the urban space with their sustainable production. In this way, all phases of the production process occur in a socially just, economically viable, and environmentally adequate way. The objective of the research is to understand the main projects favorable to a development policy for rural activities by small-scale vegetable producers in the city of Araguaína, taking into consideration the agriculturist as a resilient to his peasant life. Therefore, the productive process has a family relationship, as well as between producer and consumer, beyond the importance of cultivation for subsistence. This small urban rural producer is relevant to the local economy, guarantees organic food for the community, and preserves the land, considering the value of his rurality within the urban space in which he is inserted. In view of this, we sought to raise data with bibliographic references about the theme and visits to the producers, observing the small producer and his product, his cultural capital and production methods, the way he works, the protection and use of the land for subsistence.
